Cordelia Rizzo

Cordelia Rizzo (1982- she/her/hers) Is an interdisciplinary Mexican human rights activist, scholar, and artist. She is a PhD Candidate in Performance Studies from Northwestern University and holds an MA in Philosophy from KU Leuven. Her research probes the language of textile and other materialities to theorize what makes memory work possible. Her dissertation addresses feminist critiques of politics and knowledge production through textile activism from Mexico. She frequently writes and consults on human rights, gender-based violence, and artistic ventures. Her more recent individual and collaborative work has been shown in One River Gallery, Evanston, Illinois (2022), Chicago Textile Week, Chicago, Illinois (2022), South Side Community Arts Center, Chicago, Illinois (2023) in the United States, Flowerfield Arts Centre, in Northern Ireland (2023), and LabNL, Monterrey, Nuevo León (2022), Centro Cultural Plaza Fátima, Garza García, Nuevo León (2023 and 2024), Galería Universitaria ITESO, Guadalajara, Jalisco (2025), Tecnológico de Monterrey, Monterrey, Nuevo León (2025) in Mexico.
